How do I change my password?
The first time you log in as a Registered User you will use the password that was emailed to you. After signing in as a
Registered User, select the tab at the top of the screen--MyProfile. Verify the accuracy of the information that is
recorded and change your password if you want. You must press the SAVE button to update your profile if any changes
were made.

When should I apply?
We accept applications year round. There need not be an open position listed when you apply.

How do I apply for a specific open position?
You must be logged in as a registered user. After logging in, go to the My Positions tab (located on the top menu bar) and select the type of position (Certificated, Classified, Administrative). Review the job description and job qualifications. If you are interested in the position, select Apply. For future reference, the positions for which you have applied are listed under–My Positions then Positions Applied

How do I remove my name as an applicant for an open position?
You must be logged in as a registered user. After logging in, go to the My Positions tab (located on the top
menu bar) and then Positions Applied. If the closing date has not yet passed, you may click Remove.

How do I apply for a position that has not been posted?
You must be logged in as a registered user. On the Preference Tab, indicate your level preferences (Early Childhood,
Elementary, etc.) and then prioritize your position/assignment preference(s). Save Preferences. Note: You are encouraged to frequently review the current list of vacancies on our website. Administrators will initially screen all applicants who have applied for specific vacancies that have been posted on our district website.

What if I want to apply for a Supplemental position?
You must be signed in as a Registered User. The following tabs must be completed--Preferences, Education, Skills,
Experience, Reference and Submit. (Printing the directions for Certified/Licensed Applications would be helpful to use
when completing the Education, Experience, Reference, and Submit Tabs.)
On the Preferences Tab select Certified/License. In the Position/Assignment Preferences, select Supplemental--Advising
and/or Supplemental Coaching from the drop down menu. You may make additional comments in the Applicant's Comment box.
Select the Skills Tab and then Add/Edit Skill. Complete the Type and Activity boxes for all applicable skills.
If you want to apply for an open posted position, select My Positions, Certificated, and then Apply for any position posted
in which you are interested. It would also be necessary to complete the Skills Tab as previously explained.

teacher?

What is the pay rate for substitute teachers?
The current rate of pay for substitute teachers is $92 for a full day and $46
for a half day. It is higher ($120) for long-term assignments (five days or more in the same assignment).
How long is my application
kept on file?
We keep your application active for one year from the date your application is
received.
When you provide updated information for your application, either by
an online electronic update or submission of new information (i.e. new letters
of recommendation), your file remains active for one year from the last update.

If I apply for a position
and another similar position occurs after I apply, will I automatically be
considered for that second position?
No. Please apply for the specific position.
When do you interview for positions that
are shown as "open until filled"?
When there are sufficient qualified candidates to create an interview pool, the interview process begins. With hard-to-fill positions, an interview may be scheduled with only one qualified candidate if other qualified candidates are not available.
When do you post your open positions?
Positions are posted when they become available.
What kind of qualifications do I need to
work in the Lawrence Public Schools?
Each position posting has a list of preferred and/or required qualifications
needed to be eligible for that specific position.

How can I find out the rate of pay for a position?
To view the minimum and maximum starting salary range for an open position, go to Current Open Positions, select the appropriate tab, and click on the Job number to the left of the position you are interested in. Details specific to this position will be displayed.
What do I need to do to get released from my contract with my current school district employer?
If you have signed a contract with another school district, you must be released before signing a contract with Lawrence Public Schools. Upon receiving a written offer of employment (Letter of Intent) from the Lawrence Public Schools, you must request in writing that your current school district release you from your contractual obligation. They will advise you whether you will be released and under what circumstances. Your current HR must send us a letter indicating you have been or will be released from your current contract.
What if I need an accommodation

How will I be notified regarding an interview?
You will be notified by telephone when you have been selected to interview for an opening. We prefer to notify candidates several days in advance, but during our peak hiring in the spring and summer, it is not always possible, so we appreciate your flexibility. If we are unable to reach you by phone, we will e-mail you.
Do I need to be a citizen of the United
States?
We will hire United States citizens and aliens lawfully authorized to work in the United States in accordance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986. All new employees are required to complete an Employment Eligibility Verification Form (I-9), issued by the US immigration and Naturalization Service, which requires documentation to establish this eligibility.
What if I do not have a current certificate/license to meet the job requirement for a certified position?
Any offer of employment will be contingent upon your holding a valid Kansas
Teaching License. You may apply for a license through the http://www.ksde.state.ks.us/cert/cert.html.
