Certified/Licensed Positions Application Requirements
Thank you for your interest in Lawrence Public Schools. The application is to be completed online and submitted electronically. Please review the following information and then proceed to the Online Application by clicking the BEGIN Icon at the bottom of the page.
Every tab has a Help Screen. READ the Help Screen BEFORE completing a tab at the top of the screen. You can access the Help Screen two ways--On the top menu select the word HELP or at the bottom of the screen select the icon with the ? mark. Required fields are designated with an *.
Here are some extra tips to use while completing the online application.
Online Employment Application Form. Complete each of the tabs beginning with the Preference tab.
- Preference Tab – For type of Employment, select Certified/Licensed. It is important that you (1) indicate your level preference and (2) prioritize your position/assignment preference(s). Apply for a specific open position by selecting My Positions (located on the top menu bar) and then select Certificated Positions.
- Education Tab – Include all degrees earned. If you have additional hours beyond the highest degree listed, go back to the Preference Tab and in the Applicant's Comment box key in the number of college hours and where they were earned.
- Certificates Tab – Include all certificate(s)/license(s) and endorsement(s). The certificate number is optional. (The Kansas Teaching License number may be found on the Employer's Copy. When entering this Kansas Teaching License number, do not include hyphens.)
- License Tab – Include other professional licenses (i.e. Registered Nurse).
- Skills Tab – Include all pertinent information.
- Experience Tab – Start with the most recent year. List each year of teaching or administrative experience for the last ten (10) years including partial years and part-time teaching. DO NOT list paraeducator positions, substitute teaching, or graduate teaching assistantships.
- Reference Tab – List three references, consisting of immediate supervisor (i.e. superintendent, principal). In addition to the required fields, also include the address, city, state, and phone number for each reference. If you have no prior teaching experience, list cooperating teacher(s) and college supervisor of your student teaching. The required reference form will be automatically sent to your reference(s) if you enter the email address of your reference(s) and select SEND at the bottom of the screen.
- Inserts Tab – Complete all required administrative inserts–application questions and reference forms. If you send the reference insert by email (see Reference Tab instructions), it will not be necessary to print the reference forms insert.
- Upload Tab – You may copy and paste from your word processor a resume and cover letter.
- Summary Tab – Review your application, make any needed corrections/additions, and print a copy for your records. If you have not clicked on all the tabs listed above, you will NOT be able to view your summary page.
- Submit Application Tab – Read and respond to the questions in the Disclosure Statement section. Read the Authorization and Release information section. If you agree, type YES in caps and then select CONFIRM DISCLOSURE STATEMENT. This message will appear on your screen–"Thank you for submitting your application. It is being transmitted to the District at this time and they will receive it shortly." At a later date, you will also receive an email from the Human Resources Department confirming we received your application.
If you update and/or make changes to your online application AFTER it has been submitted, press SAVE on the tab pages you changed or updated. DO NOT SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION AGAIN! Your changes/updates are electronically transferred.

Incomplete Online Applications:
If you do not submit your completed application within ninety (90) days, it will be removed from our online system. Applications will be active for one year from the submit or change date.
Apply:
You may view or apply for Current Open Positions at any time. You must be logged in as a registered user in order to apply for a specific open position. Administrators will initially consider applicants who applied for specific vacant positions. Therefore, it is critical you frequently review vacancies and apply for specific positions when they become available. (See Frequently Asked Questions.)
To view the open positions you have applied for click on the Open Jobs tab (located on the top menu bar).
The positions you select on the Preference Tab under the prioritized position/assignment section reflect your interest in positions not posted.
